The Bucs have sent an official request to loan Tau from Al Ahly, according to KickOff.

Mixed reports have emerged around Tau’s rumored departure from Al Ahly after initial reports emerged from SuperSport stating that he had left.
Later that day, Al Ahly denied these claims, stating that Tau is still an Al Ahly player. Regardless, Al Ahly is open to releasing Tau, should a strong offer emerge. This is something the Pirates are going all out to achieve after placing an official bid before Chiefs.

The Buccaneers have just placed an official request to loan Tau with an option to sign him permanently.
“The South African team Orlando Pirates has requested the services of Percy Tau from Al Ahly on loan, with a clause in place at the end of the season that allows the club to sign him permanently if he performs well,” Fathallah Zidane reported on ONTime Sports.

Therefore, the good news for Bucs fans is that they are happy to let him go, having finally made this decision should the loan offer match their expectations.
“Al-Ahly are open to the departure of Percy Tau, but there’s no thought to terminate the contract with the player, especially since the deal cost the club a lot of money to sign him from Brighton,” he added.
