Doja Cat, whose true name is Zandile Dlamini, has been causing quite a stir in the music industry for quite some time. Her achievements in the music industry have garnered her numerous awards, including a Grammy this past Sunday. While congratulatory comments poured in from followers all around the world, one message in particular ruffled tweeps’ feathers, and it came from her father.
Dumisani, who previously starred in The Wife, took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the outpouring of love for his daughter. This came after her efforts were recognized at a renowned award ceremony.
Doja and her coworker SZA won a Grammy for their duet Kiss Me More, which was nominated for Best Pop Duo Performance.
This did not impress Instagram users, who filled his comments section with some rather nasty remarks.
People advise him to acquire a job and forget about her, just like he did when she was a child. Others are enraged by this, especially since Doja previously stated to Whoopi Goldberg that she has never met her father.
“I have tried to search for my baby and the company that runs her entertainment has been blocking me. They know that if I could get hold of her, maybe she will disappear from the picture … I know my daughter, wherever she is, is looking for me.”
“I am close to my kids, all of them. I love them and they love me,” he concluded.
