A group of hecklers aboard a Durban metro bus frustrated motorists travelling toward the N2 highway this past weekend and their wild antics were caught on camera. Taking the off-turn onto the N2 toward Stanger and Port Shepstone was a tall order for motorists, on Sunday, after a bus carrying wild passengers, and another black vehicle caused stoppages on the road.
Questions concerning the bus driver’s failure to take action against a bunch of yobs who mounted the roof of the public transport while it was in motion were raised by social media observers who found the behavior abhorrent. Moreover, a lack of traffic visibility on the highway was another factor to consider, since the bus and the vehicle were flouting numerous road regulations. Alas, video footage showing a group of hecklers surfing the Metro bus surfaced on the internet and drew ire from social media users.
In the clip, a bus passenger could be seen attempting to mount himself into the black vehicle, and when he failed, the unidentified surfer skidded on the asphalt before he disappeared into the Metro bus.
The eThekwini traffic management Centre was alerted of the incident but, at the time this article was published, an official statement had not been released. Therefore, despite the Metro bus registration information clearly visible in the video clip, it remains unclear if any action was taken against the driver and the passengers.
Here are the video clips that have since gone viral on social media:
