On social media, a passenger who stood up to the plate to land a plane after the pilot fell disabled has being praised.
According to CNN, the passenger, who had never flown before, landed a private plane in Florida on May 10.
During the incident, the passenger was overheard informing air traffic control that he didn’t know how to fly a plane.
“I’ve got a serious situation here. My pilot has gone incoherent, and I have no idea how to fly the aeroplane,” the unidentified passenger said.
The passenger was given instructions on how to land the jet by an air traffic controller, and the plane landed safely at Palm Beach International Airport.
“Try to hold the wings level and see if you can start descending for me. Then, push forward on the controls and descend at a very slow rate.
Try to follow the coast either north or southbound. We’re trying to locate you,” the air traffic controllers told the man.
The tower operator alerted another pilot preparing to take off about the passenger’s bravery after the jet had safely landed, and he responded by saying:
“Did you say the passengers landed the aeroplane? Oh, my God. Great job.”
Two people were in the plane when the pilot likely encountered a medical issue, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
