Initially, it seemed that Jele was safe at the Bucs. However, this is no longer the case with management focusing on bringing youngsters, a squad revamp at Pirates is well underway. He is a veteran and quality keeper and will no doubt be wanted by most teams in the PSL.

Mathoho is one of two Amakhosi legends left at Naturena (Khune being the other). He was a shadow of his former self last season, making costly errors and struggling to show consistency all season.

Currently, he is still contracted to Chiefs but the transfer window only ends on 31 August 2022. With Njabulo Ngcobo, Austin Dube and Zitha Kwinika available, Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppards are expected to favour these youngsters over Mathoho. He may be kept for another season to guide them but his time at Amakhosi is certainly running out.
