Limpopo police have appealing to the public for help in finding the guy who “brutally” killed a lady and injured her four-year-old son.
Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, a spokesperson for the Limpopo police, said the dead woman’s body was discovered in the bushes near Mamphahlane village on March 26.
“On that day, the police received a complaint from a member of the community about a child who was seen running in the street, bleeding from open wounds on his face,” said Mojapelo.
Officers were dispatched to the location, and the youngster told them that his mother was hiding in a nearby clump of bushes.
“A search for the woman was carried out, and she was subsequently found lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds all over her body,” said Mojapelo.
Emergency medical personnel were dispatched, and the woman was pronounced dead on the site.
For medical treatment, the child was admitted to a local hospital.
“The deceased has still not yet been identified. She is a young woman who might be in her 30s, and was wearing a blue denim skirt and white T-shirt, with black tiger print. The child is still being treated in hospital and is unable to shed any light in this matter,” said Mojapelo.
The motive for the incident is unknown, according to police, although domestic or gender-based violence cannot be ruled out.
