South African actor Khaya Dladla has made a name for himself in the South African acting industry with his dangerous roles on Television. His current role is that of Laz from House of Zwide, where he is the best friend and confidante to Funani Zwide, a millionaire designer who owns a fashion house.
Their friendship started a long time ago when Funani was still starting, and Laz, who is a designer as well, helped him throughout his career.
His role as Laz from House of Zwide
Lazarus rarely has no personal life on the show, with only the Zwides as the only family he has ever known and a couple of friends in the fashion and entertainment business. At one point, someone from his past came into his life with a child he had fathered during their short relationship and marriage. Though he faced criticism from his son because of his sexuality, they mended fences at the end of the day.
Khaya Dladla as Laz
Recently Lazy has been trying to keep the company afloat while Funani dealt with his family court drama. This has earned him the Zwides’ respect, but he was also insulted by Funani before he realized that Lazy was trying to save their business. With all of them working towards landing the R100 million deal, the team have been joining forces lately and scheming behind each other’s backs.
Roles before House of Zwide
The actor joined the show from the time it debuted on screens and is part of the recurring cast of the fashion show. When Khaya joined the show, he had just left Uzalo, where he was known as the firebrand GC, who was a gangster. Many productions reached out to him, offering Khaya similar roles to GC, which he turned down because he did not want to be a typecast actor who only took on similar roles.
