After ten years on the program, actress Shoki Mmola has decided to leave Skeem Saam and the role of Celia Kunutu.
After a decade of entertaining audiences, the actress took to Instagram to announce that the curtain was finally coming down on the persona.

After her first marriage ended in divorce, the show’s viewers got to follow Celia’s life as an independent woman as she remarried and moved in with her husband, Meneer Magingwa, played by Putla Sehlapelo.
Everyone who has supported my efforts through 28 years in the profession and 10 years of Skeem Saam deserves even more respect as I bow out of Skeem Saam.” She wrote, “Here’s to telling more stories.”
The public broadcaster confirmed her resignation from the drama series in a statement shared with Daily Sun.
When it comes to portraying Celia, Mmola has done an excellent job.” Her absence will be felt by the rest of the cast and crew, as well as by the millions of spectators who were unable to attend the show in person. “We congratulate her and wish her the best in her future endeavors,” the statement read.
Zsola Hashatsi, an actor and a former TV host, wrote about his admiration for the actress on Instagram.
