On Tuesday, 19 July, Police in Ivory Park attended to a bizarre incident where a 23-year-old suspect was nabbed for killing the prophet.
In a statement, the station communicated that a 23- year-old man from Kaalfontein’s Extension 22 was arrested for the murder of a ‘prophet’ he went to consult with.

HOW THE ZIMBABWEAN PROPHET WAS ATTACKED
It is reported that the suspect went with his mother to the prophet at an open field to consult after experiencing some visions and other inexplicable feelings.
Amid the consultation, the suspect beat the 52-year-old Zimbabwean national with a concrete brick on the head, killing him instantly.
THE SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR COMMITTING MURDER
“The mother and son came to the prophet when, during the consultation, the suspect asked to go and relieve himself. The mother and the prophet never thought anything about this mundane activity, hence they were oblivious of what was coming their way.The prophet was hit on the head and was later certified dead at the scene.
The suspect was arrested and brought to the Ivory Park SAPS holding cells,” the station reported.
The station also reported that the suspect was charged with murder and is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.

The station commander of the Ivory Park South African Police Service (SAPS), Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, expressed shock at this bizarre incident but thanked his officers for their swift response in arresting the suspect.
It is unclear at this stage whether the suspect is a mentally stable man or not.
