Big Zulu is the man of the moment, thanks partly to his “150 Bars” song in which he dissed several notables in South African rap, provoking responses from some of them. Several key culture names have since picked him as the man who reignited South African hip hop and revived the conversation about rap. That is because rappers who were hitherto quiet in the space have been firing their shots musical responses to what he put out.

For instance, K.O had dropped “Omega Freestyle”, and Kwesta released “Quantham (First Load).” Both diss responses to Big Zulu had South Africans in a state of excitement. In a tweet, K.O shared a picture of Big Zulu and noted in the caption that the rapper had brought back the excitement of Mzansi rap (with his “150 Bars” tune). According to him, Mzansi was in dire need of that, so the Inkabi Records rapper deserves to be respected for his move.

In a tweet, Slikour shouted out Big Zulu for reigniting the conversation about South African hip hop.
Reacting to that post, Cassper claimed that the revival started with a verse of his. As far as he is concerned, Big Zulu’s song was a response to what he had put together previously.
