The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has intervened to assist the more than 1,200 market vendors who had their goods destroyed in the fire that recently ravaged Ndola’s Kapalala market.

According to CEEC Director General Muwe Mungule, the commission intends to assist the impacted businessmen with interest-free loans so they can resurrect their enterprises.
Speaking to the affected traders in Ndola today, Dr. MUNGULE claimed that the government has mobilized resources through his department to aid in their return to business.
Since then, he has urged the marketeers to organize cooperatives as quickly as possible so that they can begin receiving funding on an individual basis under the protection of the cooperatives.
