The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) has provided emergency food supplies to the residents in the Kasompe neighborhood of Chingola in the Copperbelt whose homes were destroyed.
Rice, mealie-meal, and cooking oil have all been distributed to the households.
The affected households would also receive K1,000 each, according to Chingola District Commissioner RAPHAEL CHIMUPI.
According to Mr. CHIMUPI, the affected victims have been provided with temporary housing at the former council guest home until a new location is located for them to go to.
And one of those who was impacted, HAGGAI FWALANGA, expressed gratitude to the DMMU for helping them.
Mr. FWALANGA has again urged the government to take into account locating alternate land for the victims.
