The late media trainer, poet, and author EDEM DJOKOTOE has been honored by the government for his contributions to Zambia’s journalism community.
Mr. DJOKOTOE, according to Information and Media Minister CHUSHI KASANDA, “leaves an everlasting impression on the media industry.”
According to Ms. KASANDA, the late Mr. DJOKOTOE raised journalism standards by providing training.
The communications minister said when President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA was in attendance at a memorial service for the late Mr. DJOKOTOE at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka today.
A family member from Ghana named ISRAEL LARYEA also praised Mr. DJOKOTOE for keeping in touch with his relatives back home.
All Zambians have been appreciated by Mr. LARYEA for their assistance in helping the family.
In the meantime, Mr. DJOKOTOE was described as a teacher who concentrated on media skills development by ZANIS Director LOYCE SAILI, who was speaking on behalf of journalists who had been educated by him starting in the Journalism class in 1990.
Mr. DJOKOTOE, 62, is survived by his wife JOSEPHINE and their three kids.
