Mzansi Magic will premiere their next addition to the fan favorite genre in April, adding to their excellent array of reality shows. Twice as Bold is a 13-part series about twin twins Olwethu and Owami Siko, who are so intertwined that they share one soul and one baby Daddy.
While twins are known to have a tighter affinity than ordinary siblings, Olwethu and Owami have gone to extremes, at least in the eyes of their loved ones, who want them to start enjoying their lives as individuals rather than as a unit.
The 31-year-old sisters, who were born in Vosloorus, had a difficult childhood that drew them closer than they could have imagined—so close that they married the same man for nine years. The twins are on a quest to accept their spiritual calling as prophets – and to find a new husband – now that they are divorced and have kids born two months apart and fathered by their ex-husband.
“Shows centered around family trial and tribulations never get old and are always fascinating to observe – more so when the blood ties are as unique and as deep as the ones in Twice as Bold. We’re sure our audience will love this duo as we see them navigate motherhood, careers, spirituality and of course love,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.
“Our ex husband became abusive both physically and emotionally. He didn’t care that there were two of us, he would abuse us to a point of physical abuse,” Olwethu told the publication.
They also found out that he had 12 children and one married to another wife. “Olwethu suggested that we leave the marriage but we thought ‘better the devil we know’. We decided to play the game to benefit ourselves and were always on the lookout for an exit point,” said Owami.
Olwethu said she remembers how he almost killed them after wanting to set the house on flames. “I remember this one day when he almost killed us, pouring petrol around the house but thank God he didn’t find a match and that is how we were saved. We have a protection order against him,” said Olwethu.
