Blxckie and his music career:
Blxckie was born Sihle Sithole (22), in Sydenham Heights, Durban, South Africa.
When asked about how he started rapping, Blxckie told Alutho Mbendeni that he got into poetry in high school. It started off as a way to improve his English and soon after he began writing and performing his own pieces.
Then he noticed that they sounded more like rap. He recalls a time when he was 8-years old and making music with friends.Blxckie found himself stuck Joburg when the first 21 day lockdown was announced which propelled his career.
He used this opportunity work with Lucasraps, Dr. Peppa and other people in the music industry. He released his broeakout hit “Big Time Shlappa2 featuring Lucasraps and soon after “Uppity”.
When the global pandemic broke out and he was stuck in Joburg, Blxckie was doing his final year in Psychology. He put his focus on music by working on music and engaging with his fans everyday during lockdown.He released his debut studio album B4Now in May 2021 which has been certified gold in South Africa.
Building up to his debut album release, Blxckie released two singles “David” which is certified gold and “Ye ×4” featuring Nasty C which is certified double platinumBlxckie has taken a break from rapping and has moved towards singing. He released an rnb/soul ep titled 4LUv, where he explores his talents and sings throughout the ep.
His single “Sneaky” featuring A-Reece from his 4LUV ep deluxe was number one RNB song in the country, number two in all genres on Apple music on its release date.
He took to his Instagram to announce that he will be releasing a music video for Sneaky on 19/08/2022. Blxckie is also working on having a concert where he will be performing songs from 4LUV ep deluxe with a live band.
Blxckie secured an ambassadorship with Redbat/Sportscence and recently Hunters Dry. He has collaborated with international duo Earthgang, DJ Maphorisa and Venom & Shishiliza on Sondela
