Zambia and the World Bank have decided to put the Zambia Water Investment Program into action with the primary goal of boosting employment generation.
Water investment is crucial for ensuring food security, according to World Bank Global Water Director SAROJ KHUMAR JAH, who was speaking at the ongoing World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden.
According to DR. KHUMAR JAH, the Bank would consult with the Ministry of Finance on ways to improve funding for water supply.
The new dawn of governments, according to Minister of Water Development and Sanitation MIKE MPOSHA, has ushered in a new era of accountability and openness in the administration of public resources.
Since then, Mr. MPOSHA has convinced the Bank that investing in Zambia is a wise choice for both the bank and several other stakeholders.
