He added that at the time of the recovery, the motorbikes, which were reported stolen as per Ivory Park SAPS cases, had been dismantled, wrapped in plastics and ready to be shipped to Mozambique, the suspect’s country of origin.
“The importance of tıp-offs such as this one cannot be overemphasised, as it is an effective way of keeping crime and criminals in check,” Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, Ivory Park SAPS station commander
He said that had it not been for this anonymous informant these motorbikes, most of which are a means of business, would have crossed the border for good, “thus leaving owners without a source of earning a living,” said Ngcobo.
SUSPECT DUE IN TEMBISA COURT
The suspect will appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court tomorrow to answer to crime accusation against him.

This is not the first time for Ivory Park police to pounce on a suspect in possession of stolen motorbikes.

Last month seven suspects found stripping suspected hijacked motorcycles were stopped dead in their tracks by police in Ivory Park.This was also thanks to an anonymous tip-off that led the police to the immediate bust of the multiple suspects who were found in possession of three hijacked motorcycles and other stolen properties on 17 July.
Maitumulane further stressed the need for tip-offs of any crime.
“Anyone with information about any crime is welcome to anonymously call the crime stop number at 08600 10111,” he concluded.
