A Swedish businessman who had been to Ndola for the recent Trade Fair was allegedly robbed of a phone, K35, 000 in cash, 900 Swedish krona, and two bank cards by THREE ladies, who are presently on the run.

The incident is said to have occurred last Saturday at the Starscape Hotel in Ndola, where Svensson Karl Magnus, a 61-year-old Swedish national who resides at an unidentified home on Ingalate Avenue in Chelstone, Lusaka, stated that three unidentified girls had taken some of his possessions.
An iPhone 13 Promax valued at K26,000, K35,500, 900 Swedish krona, and two bank cards, according to Mr. Magnus, are among the items taken.
The complainant, who traveled from Lusaka on June 28 for the Trade Fair, has been staying at Starscape Hotel room number 16 since then because he is still looking for business opportunities in the Copperbelt, according to Copperbelt province commanding officer Sharon Zulu, who also confirmed the incident.

She claimed that he met three women who were staying at the same hotel on July 15th, this year, at about 18:00.
In the beer garden, these women were enjoying some beer. They encouraged the complainant to join them. Castle Lager was provided to him, and the women asked for his phone so they could play music. All of them went to the complainant’s room at 21:00 hours and kept drinking, according to Mrs. Zulu.
She reported that he slept off at around 22:00.

According to Mrs. Zulu, Mr. Magnus was awakened the following day at around 10:00 a.m. by one of his employees, Mala Yamba, who went to check on him at the hotel when her phone was having trouble connecting.
“He found that the money he had in his cellphone and bank cards were missing. His room was locked from outside and the women went away with the keys. The hotel management used the spare key to open the door. The matter was reported to the police,”she said.
According to Mr. Zulu, police officials attended the crime scene and watched the CCTV that showed one suspect at the reception when the woman arrived to make a room reservation.
“The receptionist confirmed that the women checked out at around 05:00 hours. They have gone away with the keys to the room which they booked. The names written in the ledgers book for the suspect are Sarah Wanjiru John of Mombasa Kenya,”she said.
When Mr. Magnus phoned Stanbic Bank customer service, Mrs. Zulu claimed that it was confirmed that money totaling K30,000 had been removed from the bank at around 06:30.
Police, according to her, have since started an inquiry.
