Following allegations of deaths linked to the drinking of GOLD BLEND whiskey, distributors have been ordered to stop selling the product.
This is true, according to Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency, up until the investigations into the alleged deaths are finished.
This occurs after three persons allegedly drank alcohol and died in Mumbwa and Mwansabombwe.
In a statement, the communications officer for the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency, CAROLINE KALOMBE, verified this and stated that inquiries into the deaths have been started.
According to Ms. KALOMBE, the investigations, which are intended to determine the product’s safety, are in keeping with the agency’s mandate.
Police are looking into three cases where people died after consuming allegedly fake alcohol: two in Mumbwa and one in Mwansabombwe.
