The University of South Africa (Unisa) began graduation ceremonies on Tuesday, proudly announcing that graduations will be held at the university’s regional campuses in Mbombela, Polokwane, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, East London, and Durban following the Covid-19 limitations. The ceremonies will last until the 23rd of June.
The institution had returned to normalcy, according to Unisa, because the ceremonies were held on campus rather than through virtual arrangements, which had been the norm for the previous two years.
The institution stated that it has contacted all of the graduates to inform them of their graduation dates and timings.
“We are proud to announce that the university chancellor, former president Thabo Mbeki, will be available to confer qualifications on graduates on Wednesday and Thursday,” said professor Puleng LenkaBula, the principal and vice-chancellor at Unisa.
“University graduations are very important and sacred ceremonies. They represent the pinnacle of hard work that students and academics have put in over the years.”
Unisa took delight in this hallowed heritage, which strived to honor, recognize, and reward hard effort, academic accomplishment, and greatness, according to LenkaBula.
