Social media influencer Philiswa ‘Lee’ Khuzwayo could be strutting toward singlehood after reports surfaced hinting that she may have filed for divorce from her husband, Michael Mhlanga. Is Lee Khuzwayo getting divorced? Social media was in tatters on Tuesday when murmurs went around claiming that not only has Khuzwayo reportedly ended her marriage, but that she also cut ties with her best friend, Mandisa Mdluli. Khuzwayo and Mdluli, once tied to the hip, no longer follow each other on social media, a development that has only fanned the flames about a possible rift in the friendship.
However, the rumor mill has been boiling with untested claims suggesting that Khuzwayo’s best friend may have been the cause of her reported failed marriage. Further, a letter supposedly issued to Mhlanga by Khuzwayo’s lawyers in June 2022 surfaced in the midst of the scandal as proof that, indeed, the social media influencer may have bowed out of her marriage. The letter references “M Cohen” as Khuzwayo’s attorney and claims that “the aforesaid marriage relationship has irretrievably broken down for reasons that are irrelevant at this stage.”
If the contents of the letter are to be regarded as true, then it may seem that Khuzwayo is on the verge of a courtroom showdown with Mhlanga, who has reportedly been instructed to provide proof of his current assets and liabilities “so that the necessary accrual calculations can take place.” Of course, neither Khuzwayo, Mdluli, nor other party involved in the scandal has come forward to address the matter in public.
