African leaders travelling via bus to pay respect to Queen Elizabeth II

Many people – including media personality Sizwe Dhlomo –  have shared their thoughts on the alleged racism that took place at the Queen’s funeral on Monday this week after photos and videos started circulating of predominantly African world leaders travelling via bus to pay respects to the late British monarch at Westminster Abbey in London…

Since then, hundreds of people have shared their thoughts on what they are arguing is racism. Others have however pointed out that not only black leaders were boarded on buses – despite what the pictures reveal.

Sizwe Dhlomo criticises black leaders who went to Queen’s funeral via bus

Kaya FM radio personality Sizwe Dhlomo has weighed in on the alleged racism at the Queen’s funeral on Monday 19 September this week.

Responding to photos of black leaders travelling via bus to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II, Sizwe basically wrote that the leaders got what they deserved for attending the funeral.

This is after another Twitter user pointed out that black leaders were made to travel in buses while president Joe Biden traveled via an armoured presidential limousine.

“It serves them right! Bona, WTF were they doing there?” he wrote.

Many echo his thoughts

A few people quickly dismissed talks of racism and pointed out that it was not only black leaders on the bus and that the photos were strategically taken to make it appear that way.

Hundreds of them headed online to slam the leaders who they maintain should not have bothered to attend the funeral at all.

“This is quite humiliating, I don’t see the necessity of attending this funeral. Sending condolence messages is enough. But our African leaders humiliated and relegated themselves to plain scenery just to get recognition. They were not given even a driver. President Emerson of Zimbabwe religiously volunteered to be their driver. How I wish they had a flat tire”

@MundiaMalumandi said:

“Why are they even there? Serves them right. What an embarrassment.”

Meanwhile, UK’s Express reported earlier that the “lesser leaders” were transported via bus to “ease congestion.”
