We can never talk about outstanding comediennes in Mzansi without mentioning Celeste Ntuli. She is referred to as the queen of the Zulu comedy and has proved to be the master of her craft on the Comedy Central Roast of Khanyi Mbau. She roasted Khanyi well and was one of the day’s best performers.
Celeste is an award-winning actress and comedienne with a cabinet of awards to show for it. The comedienne did not wake up in the entertainment industry; instead, she went to varsity to perfect her skills.

The comedienne was born on the 25th of August 1978; she will turn 44 this year. One would never guess her age as she looks young and energetic. The comedienne is not married, and she doesn’t have children. Although single and old, she is not bothered by what society says about her. Celeste always has this to say to people who think she should be married and with kids:

Society has been conditioned to think that a woman who hasn’t had a man for most of her life, like me, is a broken woman. That there’s something wrong with her. But that is so wrong it’s a distorted view of life”

Celeste was born in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal; she grew up in a big family with seven siblings. She did her primary and secondary education at a local school in KwaZulu-Natal, and her family later relocated to Durban, where she studied for her degree. She holds an honours degree in Entertainment Technology from the Durban University of Technology.

Ntuli performed her first comedy show at a church service in Durban. After performing at church, she received many positive comments that inspired her to become a full-time comedy. Her road to fame was bumpy, but she worked hard in the competitive entertainment world, becoming famous today.
Celeste is the first female comedian to record a one-woman show DVD entitled Seriously, Celeste. She has performed in top Comedy Shows, including the Blacks Only comedy showcase in 2010 and 2012, SA Comic’s Choice Awards in 2012 and the first Stand Up Zulu comedy show at the Durban Playhouse.

As she was winning in her comedienne career, Celeste stretched her wings into acting, and she appeared on several television shows.
