Nigerian afrobeat superstar and Grammy winner Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, lost his composure once more on social media while exchanging insults with Wizkid fans.
While the debate was on, the singer described the type of life he led before breaking into the Nigerian music industry. “I came into the Music industry straight from Chelmsford HMP. I had no idea I would even live this long,” his tweet read.
Burna boy also recalled his prison experience while living in the United Kingdom. According to the self-acclaimed African giant, he doesn’t care about being the biggest Nigerian artist, he is just happy that he is doing what he loves and can take care of his people.
He continued by saying that many people would be happier for him if they knew half of the things he has gone through, risking his life to make money. “Nigeria real doesn’t know me. I don’t care to be the biggest Nigerian artist, I’m just happy I can do what I love and take care of my people from it.
If you knew half the shit I used to do for money, risky my freedom daily you would be way happier for me…Of course, I will perform with my injured leg or even legs or arm,” Burna Boy stated in the now-deleted tweet.
However, it was reported years ago that Burna Boy was arrested alongside some gang members in 2010 in London after they were accused of allegedly stabbing an individual to death. He was trialed as a minor and later sent to jail by the authorities.
Burna Boy was reportedly in jail for 11 months with two months parole plus community service on the grounds of being of good behavior.
