Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has repeatedly told fans he wants a number nine. This is even more urgent after Ashley Du Preez‘s injury last week. The Glamour Boys have since been left with what you can only be referred to as ‘forwards.’ Du Preez, Khama Billiat, and the young sensation Mduduzi Shabalala do get in the box to score but it is not in their nature to stay there and battle for the ball with physical gifts.

STRIKER TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS AT NATURENA

Following the start of pre-season, none of us really saw what was coming. Amakhosi invited no less than four different number nines before coach Zwane and his assistant Dillon Sheppard declined them all.

The list included Wayde Lekay, Fuad Johnson, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, and Darren Smith.

FREE AGENTS KAIZER CHIEFS CAN CONSIDER FROM EUROPE

So are there no solutions around Mzansi and the continent? Kind of. Coach Zwane told the media in early August that they have looked everywhere and are still looking.

We have since done our search to find three center forwards that played in Europe last season before becoming free agents.

These options below might be nothing close to what Zwane wants, but hey, they are worth a look. Who knows if Zwane will read this and make the necessary calls?

With the PSL’s money and infrastructure, the competition attracts players from any part of the globe.
