Paralympian Oscar Pistorius is heading back to court in a bid to secure an early parole.
It comes after he served more than half of his sentence, for murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013.
Correctional Services Department Spokesperson, Singabakho Nxumalo, explained why the ministry appears unprepared to release Pistorius.
He said all persons are allowed to apply for parole after serving half of their sentence. Nxumalo revealed that they first check at the risks and if the person is suitable for release.
