On August 7, a 24-year-old woman accused the singer of raping her in Durban. According to the unidentified woman, they partied all night until the season 13 Idols SA runner-up offered to drive everyone home.

“I met Mthokozisi for the first time at a carwash on Saturday. I was with my friends, and he was driving a kombi. From there we partied all night until Sunday morning. Mthokozisi then offered to drop everyone at home”.

She continued: “He said he would drop me off last because he wanted to talk to me. I agreed. We then drove to a park where we voluntarily kissed. But then I became uncomfortable and asked him to stop…but he didn’t”.

Apparently after the singer got undressed he allegedly raped her. “I don’t know when he got undressed. Everything happened so fast. He became violent and started undressing me. I kept asking him to stop, but he didn’t. He raped me and was proud about it”.
Her attempt to escape the kombi was unsuccessful due to locked doors. Following the incident, the woman went to the Kwa-Mashu police station to file a charge of rape and to a nearby clinic to be examined.

“I don’t know what is going to happen next, but I’m scared…I feel unsafe…Now I want justice”. Following his arrest, Mthokozisi appeared in the Ntuzuma Magistrates court and was released on R1500 bail. When approached for comment from the publication, he responded: “I am not ready to talk about it yet”
Mthokozisi is no stranger to drama, the musician was arrested in 2017 after he allegedly assaulted a woman, according to her, he assaulted her and broke her tooth in the process.

Ndaba was provisionally acquitted of assault charges following his arrest and appearance in Hillbrow Magistrates court on Monday, 04 December 2017.Speaking to Tshisa Live, Ndaba’s lawyer said “the charges against Mthokozisi have been withdrawn provisionally and it is unlikely that they will come back and prosecute we are confident that if the state had prospects of proceeding they would have done so today.”

It was also reported that he was struggling with alcohol abuse and in 2020 he revealed how he overcame it. “In everything, there’s a good and a bad side, indeed the lockdown healing process had paralysed our country in many ways, but also it has forcefully rehabilitated me from my strong addiction to alcohol and cigarette without attending professional help,” he shared on social media.
