Amid efforts to increase police visibility and prevent crime, the City of Johannesburg has deployed an extra 64 JMPD officers to Alexandra.
Johannesburg Public Safety MMC David Tembe says this is to ensure that every corner is policed.
This comes after the shooting of 10 people in the area a few weeks ago.
“Everywhere you go you see police presence. Our job is crime prevention, you don’t have to wait for something to happen to respond,” Tembe said.
