Mzansi actress Omuhle Gela believes that changes recently been made to Uzalo’s cast have helped the show gain more viewers. The SABC1 show moved from 5,8 million viewers in May to 6,1 viewers in June.

It remains the most-watched show in South Africa.
Omuhle, who plays the role of Nomaswazi Magwaza, has praised the changes that were made by the show.
The actress joined Uzalo in May when the show was introducing the Magwaza family.

She said the love that has been shown by viewers is amazing.

“It’s my first time being part of a show that is aired on SABC1 and it’s by God’s grace that I started with the biggest one.

“I believe that the recent changes impacted the numbers. We are picking up and it’s good,” said Omuhle.
She said that the teamwork between fellow cast members and the crew also helped.
“The cast members and the whole crew work together and they support each other. They welcomed us, as the new family, with warm hands.
“The support from viewers is also amazing. I hope that the numbers will keep picking up,” said Omuhle.
She is acting alongside veteran actress Thandi Nyandeni, who plays her mother Njinji Magwaza, and the comedian Siyabonga Radebe (Vika), among others.

She said she has also been getting support from other actors from different shows.
“My craft gets support from the industry. I love it when we support each other like this,” said Omuhle, who will be hosting the Mom’s Day Off event in Durban on 27 August.
This is an event where mums will be pampered.
Celebrity mums such as The Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams and The Real Housewives of Joburg star Mpumi Mops are expected to attend.
