As they attended the reed dance at Enyokeni Royal Palace in Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal on September 17th, the Qwabe Twins (Viggy and Virginia) took great pride in the fact that they are still virgins at the age of 25.

The singers admitted in an interview that they’ve been undergoing virginity testing since they were 10 years old. Their older sister is rumored to have been the source of their motivation.
“When we first started going through with our virginity testing, we were only 10 years old. It was something that our older sister did, and we got the idea to start doing it from watching her. The choice was entirely up to us, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. At first, our motivation was purely recreational. However, as we got older, we came to understand the significance of it,” said Viggy.

“When we were 16 years old, we started going to the reed dance”. Now, virginity testing and the reed dance have both become ingrained in our way of life.
The two went on to say that, due to their intense focus on their music careers, they’ve never had boyfriends.
“When we pursued music as our career of choice, we were already aware of the pressures, risks, and peer pressures associated with the industry. “We were fortunate in that we had already reached adulthood and were aware of what we desired,” said Virginia.

“The truth is that we do get interested parties, but we have made the choice to maintain our innocence and keep our virginity. Additionally, because we are so busy, neither one of us has ever had a boyfriend.
“For the time being, we are focusing our attention on our music. In addition, we want to maintain our integrity until the appropriate men come forward. Otherwise we don’t mind being virgins until we get older or get married.”

Young women were further encouraged by the fact that Viggy and Virginia demonstrated that it is possible to be a celebrity and a virgin.
The two admitted that being a celebrity virgin is challenging, but they said that it protected them in the long run.
