Which wasn’t doing very well over the past few years and had been overshadowed by Amapiano.
Artists such as Cassper Nyovest and Reason are widely known for having dropped SA Hip Hop ( well in Cassper’s case for a while) and entirely focused on Amapiano.
Whilst this transition was quite controversial among hip hop heads , AKA’s opinion was not widely known until he released his latest offering Lemons Lemonade single where he touches on this trend.
Rapping about this new trend , AKA said “ People say “Hip hop died”, that’s nonsense / Thank God they showed their true colours / Switched up piano like vultures”
