Reports allege that an e-hailing taxi driver stopped in the fast lane to type in directions on his phone.
The small car was then hit from behind by a bakkie, resulting in both vehicles rolling over after the impact.
Medics assessed two patients, both adult males, who had sustained moderate injuries.
Once treated, the patients were transported by private ambulance to the hospital for further care.
