The UEFA Champions League gets underway again tonight and we’re looking forward to a big impact from African players on the biggest stage.

It’s been a mixed start for Senegalese star Kalidou Koulibaly in a Chelsea shirt but the Senegalese central defender will be hoping to impress on his Champions League debut for the Blues against Dinamo Zagreb in the early kickoff.

With Franck Kessie having left for Barcelona, AC Milan’s Algerian midfield schemer Ismaël Bennacer has a lot more responsibility this season. He’s already an African champion from 2019 and should go from strength to strength for the Rossoneri. The ex-Arsenal man is a complete midfielder with plenty of experience, but he’s still only 24.

In a tasty looking fixture when Sevilla hosts Man City, Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri will hope to cause a few problems for Pep Guardiola’s much-fancied visitors tonight.

Sevilla has started the LaLiga season in disastrous fashion, winning none of their first four fixtures. A man of En-Nesyri‘s calibre could put that right.
