Witness to testify Meyiwa slept with Kelly’s sister – lawyer
A defense witness will testify that the murdered football star Senzo Meyiwa was not happy about his relationship with singer Kelly Khumalo, which led him to have sex with his sister Zandi.
That’s what counsel for one or four lawyers, Timothy Thobane, said at the trial of the third state witness, Tumelo Madlala, in the Pretoria High Court on Thursday.
Thbane said witnesses will testify that Zandi asked Zandi to ‘protect’ Meyiwa while Khumalo was busy with his music career.
A witness will testify that Kelly ordered Zandi to look after Senzo while he was busy with music.
“Witnesses will complain that Senzo was protected from this and that he had sex with Zandi because Kelly had been there for a long time,” said Thbane.
Madlala replied, “I don’t know anything about it.” I will not agree or deny because Senzo loved women. ”
This drew laughter from the crowd in the packed gallery.
Thbane then asked Madlala: “Does that make him a good person?”
Before Madlala could answer, Judge Tshiphiwa Maumela dismissed the question, saying it had nothing to do with the matter.
I will not allow this question. The deceased is not here to defend himself or answer,” he said.
Previously, Madlala identified Defendant No. 2 Bongani Sandiso Ntanzini as one of the assailants who broke into Khumalos’ house on October 26, 2014, the night Meyiwa was shot dead in Wosloorus, East Rand.
Adv Malesela Teffo was allegedly forced to see the judge in his chambers before the trial began.
Prosecutor Adv George Baloyi said Maumela Teffo wanted to be heard on the second controversial document in court.
Thbane said he consulted with the client and members of Meyiwa’s family, who were represented in Teffon’s second count, and said they would not allow either to appear in court on Thursday.
Teffo went to the judge’s room, but did not return to the courtroom.
The accused – Muzikavukhulelwa Sibiya, Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthoziseni Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli, are charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated robbery, possession of firearms without a license and possession of ammunition.
They pleaded not guilty to all charges.
